In times of crisis, true leaders are defined by
both their actions and reactions

It's what people do, not the position they hold that really makes a difference...

You can't change what's happened...but we can all change what happens next!

Peter I had the privilege of hearing you speak at the Managers Forum in Brisbane last week. The obvious compassion you brought to an incredibly confronting and emotional theme struck a deep chord. Your story of how a parent would feel in the moments leading up to the tsunami left me in tears as I am sure it would for any parent of young children. The very powerful emotional themes served to emphasise the key messages I extracted from your presnetation in terms of taking time to examine why I really get out of bed - and ultimately to recognise that there is only one go at this thing called life and to take today as the first day of that new adventure. Once again I would like to acknowledge the very deep impact your presentation had - I feel like I have woken with a new zest for the journey.

I can honestly say that I have never been to a Leadership Forum that made me cry. What an inspiration you are Peter and what a legacy you leave in your wake. You are a true example of a beautiful human being and we should all be as brave and as true as you are to yourself. I will never forget your story and I will tell anyone that will listen about Peter Baines.

I was fortunate enough to hear Peter speak at a recent work conference in Sydney. Typically at these conferences you can come away from listening to a keynote speaker thinking "there's an hour of my life I'll never get back!". This was not the case with Peter. Not only did he hold my entire attention for the duration of his address but he left me feeling incredibly enriched by it. Many colleagues expressed the same feeling of needing some 'quiet time' after to absorb what we'd just experienced. A wonderful and rewarding experience. Thank you

Peter presented at a conference I recently attended. He held the attention of 100% of the audience with his style and manner. He is an Australian ambassador and a gift to human kindness. I am honoured to have met such a man and extremely grateful that we have someone like Peter protecting our country and still retain the capacity in his heart to demonstrate compassion to help others when a crisis event occurs. I was truly inspired.

I can absolutely affirm that none of the dozens of international or local speakers I've seen present over the years has ever delivered such a powerful story of leadership, teamwork, humanity & hope. Your presentation deals with highly confronting challenges, far beyond anything we in the corporate world might consider to be a 'bad day at the office' - your honesty, integrity & humour were absolutely right on the money & you had the entire audience captivated. Let me assure you as you had to leave us immediately after your presentation, that throughout the rest of today (& I'm sure it will continue through tomorrow), everyone I've spoken with has said that your presentation has been the highlight of the conference for them.

I saw Peter Baines yesterday at the BIIG Conference in Brisbane, and it was truly inspirational! The concepts behind how he leads teams in such horrific conditions have helped me put work and life into perspective. I left yesterday feeling inspired to encourage our managers to become better leaders - and then to effectively lead the change processes we are going through. I would also like to thank Peter for sharing his Tsunami experience with our group - although tragic, it has lead to something wonderful in Hands Across the Water.

Just wanted to say how much my colleagues and I enjoyed your presentation at the AMP conference. It was by far the best one at the conference and should probably have been on on the Wednesday at the main plenary session as it was the most inspirational and should have been seen by all the conference delegates. I and many of those that came to see you were raving about you for a long time after... we cried and laughed and came out feeling truly inspired and uplifted (and also a bit inadequate for what little we do to help others!) ...
